AUDITION INFORMATION

We are seeking a dynamic, diverse cast who can act, sing and play multiple characters.   Simple dance/movement also required.

Auditions will be held Sunday, July 26 at 2:00 PM at Festival Hall in downtown Greensboro. Call backs will be August 2. Time and place TBA

  • Please be prepared to sing a maximum of 32 bars of a song in the style of the show that shows your acting and singing range.  Make sure your music is clearly marked with beginning, ending and any cuts for our piano accompanist. No a cappella auditions.
  • Please do not sing from the show.
  • If you play an instrument such as a harmonica, guitar, drums, violin please be prepared to play it at the audition if asked.   
  • Please provide a head  shot (does not need to be professional), theatrical resume and the completed audition form from the website. 

Cast:  6 Women/6 Men Principals

Diane (50-60’s)– Strong Mix up to D
Hannah (40- 60’s) Soprano with mix belt up E
Janice – (20’s) Soprano  with strong belt and mix up to E
Beulah (40-60’s)-Mezzo with belt up to B
Bonnie (30-40’s) – Mezzo with belt up to B
Beverly (40-50’s)- Mezzo with mix or belt up to D
Oz (30-50’s)- Tenor up to G
Kevin T (30-40’s) Tenor up to G
Kevin J (30-40’s Kevin T’s boyfriend and plays Muslim) Tenor or Baritenor
Bob (African American male 20-40’s) Baritone
Claude (40’s – 60’s) Baritone with a strong High G
Nick (50-60’s) Baritone with E

2 Women/2 Men Ensemble and Understudies
Female voices – Mezzo Sopranos with strong mix and belt
Male voices – Baritones, Bari-Tenor, and Tenors
