2024 Season

And Then There Were None

Written by Agatha Christie

Directed by: Anenaca Simpson

The Lake Country Players present the bestselling mystery novel of all time. Ten strangers are invited to a private island, unbeknownst to them, to be killed off one by one.

“The plotting in this play is incredible. It’s really a groundbreaking plot. It’s been imitated many times, but it’s the quintessential classic mystery.”  – G. Einhorn

“The whole thing is utterly impossible and utterly fascinating. It is the most baffling mystery Agatha Christie has ever written.” - New York Times

“A perfect combination of thriller and detective story, this much-copied plot is Christie’s greatest technical achievement.” — John Curran, The Guardian

BIG RIVER: THE ADVENTURES OF HUCKLEBERRY FINN

ADAPTED FROM THE NOVEL BY MARK TWAIN

Premiering on Broadway on April 25, 1985, the show earned seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical, and ran for over 1,000 performances.

Mark Twain’s timeless classic sweeps audiences down the mighty Mississippi as the irrepressible Huck Finn helps his friend Jim escape from slavery to freedom. Their adventures along the way are hilarious, suspenseful, and heartwarming, bringing to life everyone’s favorite characters from the novel: the Widow Douglas and her stern sister Miss Watson; the uproarious King and Duke, who may not be as harmless as they seem; Huck’s partner in crime, Tom Sawyer and his rowdy gang of pals; Huck’s drunken father Pap Finn; the lovely Mary Jane Wilkes and Mary Jane’s trusting family. Propelled by an award winning score from Roger Miller the king of country music, the jaunty journey provides a brilliantly theatrical celebration of pure Americana.

Message from Lake Country Players
Thank you everyone for your continued support of LCP. Without you, and donors like you, we would not be able to produce the quality, entertaining performances you have come to expect over the past 13 years. I hope you enjoyed our 2024 productions, Agatha Christie’s suspenseful murder mystery And Then There Were None, and the sweeping Broadway musical, Big River, based on Mark Twain’s classic novel, Huckleberry Finn.

We had planned to offer a third production this season but due to technical difficulties with the sound system at Festival Hall, we realized the show would not be up to the professional standards we strive to achieve. Therefore, we will not mount a show in November as originally scheduled but will use this time to resolve these issues in order to bring you a great 2025 season.

We are currently in the process of choosing those shows and will notify you soon as that process is complete.

Warm Regards,
Mo Brower
